3D models generated by the object modeller are refined in the Interactive Model Refinement and Rendering tool. This tool, based on the industry standard 3ds max framework, is custom configured to provide a simple user friendly model refinement interface for the museum user.

Key objectives of the Interactive Model Refinement and Rendering tool are to:

  • Provide a simple 3D modelling and refinement tool
  • XML connectivity with the ARCO system

Key functionality of the Interactive Model Refinement and Rendering tool are to provide:

  • Simple model refinement interface to refine 3D models generated by the object modeller
  • Simple model creation interface to create simple 3D models
  • Database browser
  • Export XDE formatted XML files
  • Import XDE formatted XML files

Future functionality may include:

  • Implement a laser modelling plug-in
  • Implement a mechanical modelling plug-in
  • Embed the stereo photogrammetry object modeller as a plug-in
